Sarver, PA (June 7, 2023) The dirt will fly and there will be fireworks in the sky on Friday night as the annual Fan Appreciation Night presented by #1 Cochran Automotive makes it's way to The Action Track. Fab4 Racing Revved Up With Marburger Farm Dairy will be on tap as the Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Cars, Precise Racing Products Late Models and Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks will all be in action and in between the action on the track, a firework display will dazzle and delight all in attendance!
Get ready for a little something different as we present the first white towel wave in Speedway history! There will be white towels for the first 2000 fans through the gates on Friday night, courtesy of #1 Cochran Automotive and before the Late Model main event takes the green flag, fans in the stands will be giving them a towel wave before they step on the gas for their 25-lap feature. On Friday we also welcome two special groups to the speedway for their employee night's as Peoples Natural Gas and the Sheet Metal Workers enjoy at night at the track together.
On the track, AJ Flick comes into the night with one of the hottest hands of any driver in the area. Flick, who just captured his second consecutive Western PA Sprint Speed Week championship, currently brings a 26 point lead in the Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Car standings into Friday night and has amassed three wins in five appearances thus far in 2023 on the Lernerville surface. Brandon Spithaler and Dan Kuriger own the other two feature victories in the division. In the Precise Racing Products Late Models, last Friday's feature winner Tyler Dietz holds a 16 point edge ahead of 2022 champion John Garvin Jr. and Michael Norris. Friday night's program will give another opportunity for Late Model competitors to tune up for the 17th annual Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel, featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, which makes it's way to The Action Track June 22-24. Keep an eye out for an invader or two to get one more round of testing before the three day speed festival begins as the days wind down. Garvin, Norris and the invading Gregg Satterlee own the other three victories in the division thus far.
In Diehl Automotive Big Block Modified Action, 2020 champion Garrett Krummert broke the tie with Rex King Jr. last Friday night and now leads the standings by just two markers while last week's feature winner Jeremiah Shingledecker resides in the third spot, 16 points off the leader. Brian Swartzlander, Krummert, Mat Williamson and Erick Rudolph all have one win each thus far. And in the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks, Tyler Dietz has a lions share of the wins and is atop the point standings coming into Friday night with Cody Koteles now 27 points back. Christian Schneider and Jake Dietz have the other wins to date.
Pits will open at 4 PM on Friday night with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing scheduled to start at 7:30 PM. General admission is $18 and children 10 and under are admitted free as always. Pit passes will be available for $30.
