Sarver, PA (June 15, 2022) It is the time of year again when we are just one week away from the annual Firecracker 100, this year presented by Big River Steel and paying a record $50,000 to the winner, but before we get to the biggest race weekend in the history of Lernerville Speedway, mid-season champions must be crowned. This Friday, June 17, we will do just that as the Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy featuring the Peoples Natural Gas Sprints, Precise Racing Products Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds, and the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks will be racing for guaranteed starting spots for their divisions premier races throughout the rest of the 2022 season.
When youre hot, youre hot, like A.J. Flick who has won two straight Fab4 Peoples Sprint features with a $3,000 Western PA Sprint Speedweek win sandwiched in between the two Fab4 wins. Last weeks win gives Flick four total wins at Lernerville in 2022 and has given him a 20-point edge over Sye Lynch who sits second in the season long points championship. Carl Bowser is third in the standings followed by Brandon Matus and Darin Gallagher. Can Flick make it four Fab4 wins in a row in this weeks Mid-Season Championships, or will it be someone else who claims the title as well as the guaranteed starting spot in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXI scheduled for Wednesday, July 6?
John Garvin got his first Lernerville win since 2013 last week which propelled him into the Precise Late Models championship points lead heading into the Mid-Season Championships. However, former track champions Alex Ferree and Jared Miley are hot on his trail with Ferree only 2 points behind and Miley lurking just 10 points back. Colton Flinner and Logan Zarin are fourth and fifth in the standings as this weeks Precise Late Model winner will get an automatic starting spot in the 16th Annual ˜Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel coming up on June 23-25.
A guaranteed starting spot for the BRP Modified Tour event during the 14th Annual ˜Steel City Stampede is on the line for the Diehl Modifieds as Jeremiah Shingledecker continues to top the championship standings with Brad Rapp still only 11 points behind. Dave Murdick has moved into the third spot after his second-place finish last week. Brian Swartzlander is fourth just 24 points back while Garrett Krummert sits fifth.
Tyler Dietz is still in command of the Millerstown Pro Stocks point lead and will be gunning for the guaranteed starting spot for the Penn/Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series event scheduled for August 5th. The rest of the field will be looking for that spot as well lead by Todd Weldon who is second in points just 14 points behind Dietz. Chris Schneider is third just ahead of Joey Zambotti and Brett McDonald who are fourth and fifth, respectively.
