Quick Results 8.31.19- Matus Wires Peoples Gas Sprints; Morrow Wins Thriller; Colwell Bests 305s; Bard and McAndrew Take Micros

Sarver, PA (August 31, 2019) Five divisions of Sprint Cars gave fans in attendance a fantastic evening of racing at The Action Track on Saturday night as the 2nd Annual Sprint Car Spectacular went into the books. Drivers and fans were treated to a lightning fast surface that saw lap times not too far from track record type speed, dominant performances and one feature finish that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

In the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Brandon Matus started on the pole and never looked back in taking a $2,500 payday. Matus was perfect in lapped traffic as he managed to increase his lead and keep divisional heavyweights, Carl Bowser, Jack Sodeman Jr., and Sye Lynch behind him. Meanwhile, Michael Bauer was impressive in moving forward to the second spot with six laps to go but could get no closer to the leader as Matus got a solid restart with three laps to go and cruised to the victory.

Kyle Colwell took the lead on lap three from Ryan Lynn in the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 RaceSaver main event. Behind him, Lynn, Jonathan Jones and Will Fleming were in an intense battle for position throughout the 25 lap main event until Lynn made contact with the turn four wall with 16 laps in the books, ending his second place run. When action resumed, Jones quickly moved to second but could get no closer as Colwell finished his run to the checkers while Garrett Bard made an impressive charge to the third spot.

In a very thrilling RUSH Sprint Car main event, Zach Morrow took the lead from pole sitter Jeremy Weaver on lap two but had to work extremely hard to stay there. Weaver took the lead back just past the halfway mark and a caution reset the stage with 15 laps in the books. When action resumed, Weaver, Morrow and current points leader Brian Woodhall engaged in a three car fight for the lead that saw Morrow re-emerge with the top spot with two laps to go. The three cars came into the final set of turns each with a chance to snatch victory but Morrow was able to cross the line first to collect the feature win.
