Sarver, PA (July 26, 2017)  There are five weeks left for drivers to make their move towards a season championship as the Fab4 Fueled by Turner's Premium Iced Tea make it's return to The Action Track. And the chase will begin this Friday night as AJ Flick, Michael Norris, Mat Williamson and Corey McPherson look to put away the competition and etch their names on the impressive list of track champions.

But this week, fans have more than just racing to look forward to. It's Christmas in July this Friday night. And although the season and temperatures won't feel like December, the atmosphere and chances to receive some special gifts most certainly will.  Santa Claus will be in attendance for pictures and fans in attendance can take a sneak peak and purchase our new line of Lernerville Christmas ornaments on display.  There will be t-shirt drawings as well, and each feature winner will pull tickets at random in victory lane for tickets to our remaining special events!  Fans are encouraged to keep their ticket stubs at the ready, as t-shirts and special event tickets will be drawn from adult admission tickets.

Friday is also Diehl Automotive night as they present a special parade of their new models during the racing program for fans to have a closer look at.

Pits will be open at 4 P.M. grand stands at 5 P.M. and racing will begin at 7:30 P.M. sharp! Adult general admission will be $14, $11 for seniors, $7 for students and children 10 and under are free. Pit prices are $20 for DIRTcar Members and $30 for non members.  The running order for the night will see the Late Models take the track first, followed by the Big Block Modifieds, Sprints and Pro Stocks.

When last we left off, Jack Sodeman Jr. was busy wiring the field en route to his second victory of the year which pulled the point battle even closer. It's a three car chase for the title as AJ Flick, Dan Shetler and Sodeman are separated by a mere 14 points.

Thus far, Sodeman leads the way with two feature wins on the season while Flick, Shetler, Dan Kuriger, and Central PA invaders Logan Wagner and Dylan Cisney are all tied with one win each.  Gary Kreiss and Cory Good have both been close to feature wins this season and have been among the fastest cars on the track at various points of the season and they'll be looking to find Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane before the regular season ends.

Points coming into Friday

AJ Flick- 234
Dan Shetler-230
Jack Sodeman Jr.-220
Gary Kreiss- 190

Michael Norris has been winning at a 66 rate in 2017, taking four out of the six features in the division. He currently leads Alex Ferree by 28 points coming into the week though and while that seems like a large margin, it's not insurmountable by any stretch.  It's not that Ferree hasn't been impressive this year, he's achieved a fair amount of feature wins at other tracks, but he has finished second to Norris three times so far and will need to convert some of those performances into wins in the final five weeks to give himself a chance to take another track championship.

Russ King remains the only other regular competitor to take a feature win this season while Matt Lux has been close on a few occasions but has come home empty handed thus far. Lux has managed a feature win in each of the last two seasons and will look to keep that streak going down the final stretch.

There's just not much left to say about the amazing season Mat Williamson has had to this date. He's racked up seven wins in eight tries, and has pulled off two consecutive charges from the back of the field en route to victory lane.  He'll be chasing history over the final five weeks in terms of feature wins in a season.

Behind him, Brian Swartzlander remains the only other driver to take a feature victory this season and is currently 34 points back of Williamson in the title chase. Jeremiah Shingledecker has been fast since some new equipment and an engine came his way a few weeks ago and will be looking to extend his streak of winning at least one feature event in a season as the season winds down.

Corey McPherson has turned in a typical McPherson type season to this point, which is to say of the dominant variety once again. McPherson has five feature wins thus far and a 40 plus point lead over three time feature winner Tyler Dietz who currently resides in second place in the season standings.  Aaron Easler has the other feature win this year.

Dietz is the most recent winner as the Pro Stocks were part of the Modified Mania card, but he will have to keep winning  to have a good chance at running down the leader. As the season starts winding down, look for some drivers who have not found victory lane yet to make a strong push.  Terry Young, Joe Kelley, Jim Fosnaught and Joey Zambotti among others, normally have at least one win to this point of the season, but have yet to cross under the checkered flag first in 2017 so far.

Tyler Dietz- 259
Aaron Easler- 254
Joey Zambotti- 229
