Silver Dollar Speedway To Crown Overall Sprint Car Champion in 2022

 

CHICO, Calif., February 16, 2022 — Heading into their first season at the famed Silver Dollar Speedway, track promoters Brad Sweet, Kyle Larson and Colby Copeland are excited to announce a new points fund that will crown a 2022 sprint car champion.

 

The points fund will pay $6,000 to win and both 410 and 360 sprint car teams will be eligible for the grand prize and title of Silver Dollar Speedway 2022 Sprint Car Champion. The fund will pay the top five sprint car drivers at the end of the season.

 

“We wanted to reward all the teams that come out and support the track this year as we move into a new era,� SLC Promotions partner and three-time World of Outlaw NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Champion Brad Sweet said. “Silver Dollar is a really special place and we wanted to do something for the drivers that honors them both financially and in title.�

 

Points will be awarded based on A-Main finishes at all events, with the winner earning 50 points. Second place will receive 46 points with a two point drop per position after. Fifty show-up points will also be given to all participants.

 

Racers will want to take note that the Saturday of Silver Dollar Speedway’s famed Gold Cup race will offer double points for position and participation.

Cars will hit the track this Sunday, February 20th for the annual Play Day. Teams are highly encouraged to attend because this is the only scheduled practice of the season. This is a great opportunity for teams to test and tune their high-powered race cars on this day from noon until dark. All divisions of cars are welcomed to attend and will be placed with fellow competitors in hot lap style sessions.

 

The pit gate will open at 11am sharp. The cost is $30 per person. Cars will be given the green light at noon to hit the track. SLC Promotions has plans to keep practice on the track open until it gets too dark. Grandstands will not be open to the public. Concessions will be available.
