Majdic Wins 2nd Career Feature at Chico

Chase Majdic won his second career winged 360 sprint car main event at Silver Dollar Speedway on the special July 4th Sunday night show.  Majdic passed Chase Johnson on lap six and never surrendered the top spot during the next 19 laps.  Majdic extended his lead to 2.216 seconds at the checkered flag.  Chase Johnson was solid tonight and gave the crowd a great show as he held off JJ Ringo for second.  Ringo moved into the third spot on lap 16 while battling with Brian McGahan.  Colby Johnson was impressive and finished in fourth.  Michael Ing charged into fifth and picked up a $100 bonus from Paul Olmsted Plastering.  Chelsea Blevins finished 12th and earned the bonus money for the highest finishing female driver.  Anissa Curtice finished 19th while Ashlyn Rodriguez only completed 10 laps and finished 22nd.

An impressive 32-winged sprint cars attended the show.  Nick Larson won the 12-lap B main.  Dawson Hammes, Wyatt Brown, and Carson Hall all transferred into the show.  Heat race winners picked up an extra $50 cash from Tiner/Hirst Ent.  Those winners were Michael Ing, JJ Ringo, Brian McGahan Jr., and Max Mittry.  Want to thank ManCamp, Warren and Juanita, Paul Olmsted, and TH Inc for the special bonus money.

Kyle Allen won an exciting 20-lap Hobby Stock main event.  Allen held off Zach Lindgren for most of the race.  Adam Favors found the top late in the race and rocketed to a third-place finish.  The show that Allen and Lindgren put on was amazing.  Allen made his car very wide the final few laps of the race.  Fourth went to Kevin Lesch, who to his credit, was up in the top three most of the race.  Maurice Merrill rounded out the top five. Shannon Collins ran sixth.  David Cooper won the first heat race.  Collins was the winner of heat two.

Phil Marino “thrilled� the capacity crowd by winning the 20-lap Street Stock main event.  Brent Lawrence was all over Marino most of the race.  Richard Brace Jr. moved his way to third late in the race.  Richard Vander Ploeg came home fourth.  Bill Hall was fifth.  Marino won the lone heat race for the division.  The Street Stocks put on an entertaining show.

Matt Micheli was ruled the winner of the IMCA Sport Mod feature.  On the previous restart, Hunter Merritt took the lead, but officials decided he had jumped the start.  The race finished with Merritt crossing the finish line first, but docked two spots, thus giving Micheli the win.  Shaun Merritt was deemed the second-place finisher.  Hunter was moved back to a third-place finish.  Jeremy Phillips drove up to a fourth-place finish.  Scott Savell crossed the line in fifth.  Micheli won the first heat.  Phillips won heat two.  Great job by these drivers tonight.

In all 68 cars attended Fast Cars and Freedom event.  The fans were treated to a spectacular post-race fireworks show.  It was great to see this facility packed with cars and fans, as we all gathered to celebrate the 4th of July.  Next race is Summer Nationals July 23rd.
