Sean Becker Wins The Wolf Memorial

Chico, CA (Aug 16, 2019) …. Sean Becker thrilled the Friday night crowd with his first career win at the seventh annual Tyler Wolf Memorial Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway. “I have a lot of great memories of racing against Tyler, said Becker in victory lane. “It means a lot to finally win this race named in his honor. Becker has now amassed 65 career sprint car wins at Chico.
Mittry Construction added an extra $1,000 to the overall purse. With the win, Becker and Menne Motorsports were awarded $2,000. C & H Motorsports received an extra $300 and Forsberg Racing was given an extra $200.
Thirty-winged 360 sprint cars lined the pit area of the speedway. Kyle Larson Racing added a cool $500 cash bonus to the nights fastest qualifier. For the 55th time in his career, Auburn’s Andy Forsberg picked up the fast time award. He was also given an extra $100 from Paul Olmsted Plastering.
Andy Gregg made a rare start at Silver Dollar Speedway and proceeded to lead the first 25 laps of the 30-lap feature. Because each lap was individually sponsored, Gregg and team earned over $700 for their efforts. While Gregg did slip back a bit near the end, fourth, he should still be commended for a great drive tonight. Hoping to see him and the No. 01 back soon. Becker took the lead on lap 26 and led the final four laps for the popular win. Kyle Hirst was steady all night. Hirst ran up front but never seemed to have enough to get to the top spot. He did move into second late in the event and finished in second. Eighth place starting Andy Forsberg drove hard all night to finish third. Stephen Ingraham was one of the stars tonight. Ingraham battled with the likes of Hirst and Becker tonight. Sadly, on lap 18 his motor laid down and he had to retire. Even though his finish was disappointing he did earn some hard-fought lap money to ease the blow a bit.
It was great to see Chase Majdic run the No. 19 in honor of Tyler Wolf tonight. At one-point Majdic was racing for a top three spot. He ultimately slipped back to fifth but all in all it was a win for him and team. Brad Bumgarner was once again back to his solid self. The Chico driver continues to drive with a veteran presence and scored a sixth-place finish. We appreciate the hard driving styles of Colby Copeland, Kyle Offill, Chelsea Blevins and D.J. Freitas who all finished inside the top ten.
Cherokee’s Kyle Allen continued his undefeated season and won his eighth consecutive Hobby Stock main event this season. Tonight’s win was no walk in the park, as Allen didn’t move into the lead until late in the race. Allen passed Shannon Collins on lap 15 of the 20-lap race. Collins drove a great race and finished second. James West was steady all night and finished third. West continues to knock on the door of victory lane. Maurice Merrill led the first seven laps. He drove a great race but on lap 18 his night ended. It was a disappointing finish to what had been a great night for Merrill. Jeremiah Creedon finished fourth while Jacob Johnson rounded out the top five.
Matt Micheli of Live Oak also continued his winning ways as he dominated the Street Stock feature. Micheli has won five of the six races held this season at the speedway. Micheli held a nearly five-second lead over second place finishing Richard Workman. Ken Micheli finished third. Gary Newman ran fourth. Fritz Zanker rounded out the top five.
