Four-time champion Andy Forsberg, Auburn, CA, is set to go for five this season. Nicknamed, “Mr. Excitement, will have his hands full in 2019 with the reemergence of Sean Becker. “The Shark is primed to attend all championship point shows in 2019 at Chico and will be Forsberg’s biggest threat. Becker has six track championships but none since 2016. Upwards of 20-winged 360 sprint cars are expected this Friday night.
Brain Cooper will look to defend his IMCA Sport Mod championship in 2019. Cooper dominated the point battle last season. Cooper had four main event wins and won the title by 52-points. The Yuba City driver will need to fend off a strong contingent of local drivers led by Chico’s Tyler Rodgers.
The Hobby Stock division saw an increase in cars last season. Corning’s Jeremy Langenderfer won the championship last season by a mere 17-points over James West. Colin Ferguson and Mel Byers were also in the hunt last season. Cherokee’s Kyle Allen had the most wins with four.
