Currier Leads Speedway Bikini Contestants
(Chico, CA 8/16/1018)…Local Marketing Specialist, Rachelle Currier leads the contestant list for the 2018 Miss Gold Cup Bikini contest to be held Friday night September 7 during the annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Currier was a top finisher in 2017 and hopes to pocket the $1,000 top prize of the almost $3,500 that will be up for grabs. The 26 year old beauty lives in Chico.
The Hunt Magneto Chili Feed and Bikini Contest are a deep seeded tradition that goes along with the Gold Cup that enters its’ 65th year with the 2018 edition. Upwards of 30 contestants will compete on the stage which is hosted by local celebrity Troy Hennig and this year he’ll be joined guest host Rick Faeth from Petaluma.
The entrants are guided through a series of contest processes to select the top three finishers. Those three return to present the World of Outlaw winners with their awards on Saturday night. Entries are being taken at this time and registration form is on the Speedway website at www.silverdollarspeedway.com.
Contestants must be 18 years of age and agree to some basic contest rules. Every entrant will receive at least $50 with the top 3 receiving $1,000, $500, and $300. Contestants are also encouraged to enter early since the contest is limited to 30 entries. Details can be discussed with the contest coordinator, Linda Manning, at 209-518-1601. The Gold Cup is scheduled for September 5, 6,7,and 8that the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico. Many surrounding events will take place in addition to the nightly Auto Racing. Wed. September 5th will host the Winged Civil War Sprints along with the Hunt Magneto Wingless sprints. Thursday the USAC/CRA sprints will be joined by a new 360 sprint program. Friday and Saturday night the National World of Outlaw tour comes to Chico for the only time this year.
