This is the fifth year the Fall Nationals has been in tribute to Chico native Stephen Allard. A two-time track champion at Silver Dollar Speedway, Allard always stated that the Fall Nationals was his favorite race of the season. For those of us who knew him, Allard was a personable character who went out of his to say hello to you in the pits. Once he befriended you watch out, Allard would try his best to make you laugh by doing something goofy. On the track, he was a furious driver capable of winning any sprint car race he entered.

Jonathan Allard, 2008 Fall Nationals champion, has secured a ride for this weekend's tribute to his brother. Allard will be piloting the No. 11d out of the Bay Area. It will be Allard's first time behind the wheel of this car. "Obviously this weekend means a lot to me and my family," said Allard. "It would be great if I could win this race in honor of my brother."

Three-time winner of the Fall Nationals and champion of the last two consecutive Saturday night features is Auburn's Andy Forsberg driving the family No. 92. Forsberg also captured this year's 410-track championship. "Stephen and I were always billed as the not liking each other," said Forsberg. "But off the track we had a great friendship. He liked to play up the on the track rivalry and then secretly come over to our trailer after the races and sit and talk for a while."

Another three-time winner of the Fall Nationals is Roseville's Sean Becker. His most recent Saturday night win came in 2014. Becker will drive the familiar No. 75 this weekend. 2013 Fall Nationals champion and 2016 Placerville track champion Mason Moore will be piloting the No. x1. Campbell's Bud Kaeding won this race in 1996 & 1997. He will be trying to win this weekend in Morrie and Katie Williams No. 0.

Looking to win their first Stephen Allard perpetual trophy on Saturday night include Penngrove's Buddy Kofoid, Paradise's Kyle Hirst, Hanford's DJ Netto, Fresno's Dominic Scelzi and Hollister's Tony Gualda. Gualda drives the No. 7c for C&M Motorsports. This car has won the previous two Fall Nationals.

2017 Silver Dollar Speedway wingless spec sprint track champion Tony Richards leads a solid contingency of non-wing sprint car drivers. Richards is the defending winner of the Fall Nationals event. Santa Rosa's Terry Schank Jr. pilots the famed Joe Hunt Magnetos No. 1. 2016 Maryville Raceway track champion Josh Vieira is also vying for the top spot on Saturday night.

The Northwest Ford Focus Midgets will make their first appearance ever at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Over 20 competitors are expected to hit the famed high banked quarter-mile clay oval.
