Take Mom to the Races This Friday Night
CHICO, CA (5-9-17) -Â Silver Dollar Speedway wants to recognize all the hard-working moms who are also fans of dirt track racing. In recognition of Mother Day's coming up this weekend, all moms will be charged a discounted grandstand admission this Friday night only. Dennis Gage, the promoter, has knocked five dollars off the regular price for all moms. So instead of the normal $14 adult ticket, moms will just pay $9. Might be a wonderful time to take your mom to the races and enjoy a traditional night of racing at the speedway.
A large overall car count is expected this Friday night for point race #5 presented by Enterprise Rent a Car. Silver Dollar Speedway is excited to host the second point race for the West Coast Sport Mod Tour. An earlier rain out prompted the track and tour organizers to reschedule for this Friday night. Over 40 drivers attended this past Saturday nights first official West Coast Sport Mod Tour event at Merced. Talented drivers from all up and down the west coast are expected. Should be a night that sport modified fans will not want to miss.
The pit gate will open at 4 PM while the front grandstands will open at 6 PM. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM. The adult general admission ticket will cost $14.00; however, all moms will be admitted for just $9.00 on this night only. On this night seniors and juniors are $12.00 with children just $6.00. Kids five and under are FREE.
To avoid standing in long lines the Speedway now has an on-line purchase tickets option located at www.silverdollarspeedway.com.
Andy Forsberg leads the 410-winged sprint cars into this Friday night. He holds an eight-point edge over Michael Ing. Forsberg has won two of the three main events this season when it comes to championship point racing. Chase Majdic sits in the third spot. Brad Bumgarner holds down the fourth spot. Braedon Enos and Kyle Hirst are tied for 5th with 92 points.
The wingless sprints are back at it again this Friday night. After coming off two nights of consecutive racing this past weekend, these non-wing warriors will need to regroup and come back on this Friday night. Three-time track champion Terry Schank Jr. leads the point standings by just eight points over Tony Richards. Casey McClain and Craig Swim are tied for third. Jeremy Wilson has run solid this season and sits just behind these four drivers.
Kyle Allen and Brian Compton will continue their rivalry this Friday night during the Earl's Plumbing Hobby Stock point championship. Chasing them is the most recent main event winner Shannon Collins. The Vintage Hardtops are also scheduled to attend.
