Silver Dollar Speedway
Bring Your Mom to the Races This Friday Night
CHICO, CA (5-2-16) -Â It's about time mom gets a break. This Friday night Silver Dollar Speedway is discounting all moms front gate ticket admission to $9.00. Just mention it to the ticket booth and receive the lower price.
Racing will be fast and furious this Friday night as five divisions are planned once again to attack the famed quarter-mile speedway. The winged 410 sprint cars, limited late models, street stocks, IMCA sport mods and hobby stocks are all scheduled.
Adult general admission is $14.00. Senior and junior pricing is $12.00. Children just $6.00 and kids five and under are always free. Once again, only $9.00 for moms this Friday night only. As usual, there is FREE PARKING for every Friday night event. Front grandstand gate opens at 6 PM. Pit gate for the competitors opens at 4 PM. Racing is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
Rutherford's Rico Abreu is the current Friday night point leader; however, he will not be in attendance this weekend. Abreu's schedule doesn't show him back in Chico until the Gold Cup in September. That will in turn give Sean Becker the Friday night point lead. The five-time champion holds a seven-point edge over two-time champion Andy Forsberg. Chico's Brad Bumgarner is sitting comfortably in the next spot.
The IMCA Sport Mods are sure fun to watch. Currently Brian Cooper holds a one-point edge over Todd Cooper. Jerry Bartlett sits in the third spot just four points back. This division offers great car counts and close racing.
The Street Stocks opened up their point battle last Friday night. The car count had almost reached 20 and the competition was stout. Ryan McDaniel leads the series into this Friday nights race.
McDaniel leads the Limited Late Model charge also. He is currently undefeated in two starts this year.
Brian Compton is also two for two this year. Two starts and two wins has put a bulls-eye on his car. He is as solid of a driver we have witnessed in the last five years at Chico.
