CHICO, CA (7-28-15) - Fans of winged 360 sprint car racing can rejoice. This Friday and Saturday night, Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico and Marysville Raceway will host back-to-back nights of winged 360 sprint car racing. Drivers from up and down the state of California have inquired about attending both nights of racing. Promoter Dennis Gage has thrown in a bonus of $500 to any driver that can win both Chico and Marysville winged 360 sprint car main events.

This Friday night, July 31, the pit gate for the competitors will open at 4 PM. The front gate for the fans will open at 6 PM. Racing is slated to start at 7 PM. Adult general admission is $13.00, juniors and seniors are $11.00, kids $6.00 and under five are free.

The list of talented winged 360 sprint car drivers set to race this Friday night at Chico is expanding. Watsonvilles Justin Sanders will make a rare Chico start and look to add to his already 12 wins in 2015. Rosevilles Sean Becker, Auburns Andy Forsberg, Fresnos Koen and Kyler Shaw along with local favorites Jonathan Allard and Brad Bumgarner are expected. Paradise champion John Michael Bunch and Australias Michael Cunningham are also entered.

Joining the winged 360 sprint cars are the economy sprints, mini stocks, street stocks and the lone visit of the season for the Vintage Hardtops.

The street stock championship is heating up with three of the top drivers all separated by less than 10 points. Eddie Hammett holds a four point lead over Clinton Earl. Veteran Gary Newman sits in the third spot and is currently nine points behind Hammett. Interestingly, neither of the top three has yet to win a main event this season at Chico.

With four wins in six starts Chicos Brandon Powell holds a commanding 24-point edge over Ron Wyman in the economy sprint car division. Wyman is only three markers ahead of rookie driver Wyatt Brown.

This Friday will mark the third appearance of the season for the mini stocks. Previous winners include James Forster and Damian Merritt.
