Silver Dollar Speedway
Pivotal Point Race This Friday
CHICO, CA (7-15-15) -Â There are too many reasons to list why missing this Friday night, July 17th, at Silver Dollar Speedway would not be a smart decision. Not only are we coming back after a weekend off, but once we race this Friday night, we are off again on the following weekend. If you need your dirt track auto racing fix, then we implore you to show up this Friday night.
If racing is not your cup of tea, then why not try and win some amazing raffle prizes all while donating to a great cause. For the second year in a row the Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue (BCSAR) organization will be a part of the racing evening. As with last year, the BCSAR will demonstrate an actual rescue mission right in front of the grandstand crowd. The helicopter will be deployed and the demonstration this year is going to be a once in a lifetime chance to see how these brave men and women risk it all trying to save other human lives.
The BCSAR is also providing fans with an amazing chance to win some incredible prizes. Over $2,000 in gift certificates and personalized gifts are up for grabs. Great local companies such as Riebes Auto Parts, Lundburg Farms, Sierra Nevada Brewery and Feather Falls Casino are just a few of the participants involved.
Butte County Sheriffs Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit auxiliary unit of the Butte County Sheriffs Office. Our headquarters, the Lt. Larry Estes Training Center, is located at 3898 Morrow Lane in Chico, behind the old Tile City off Skyway. The facility is open to the general public only during the Teams monthly General Meetings or during special events for the public. General meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. preceded by classroom team training at 6 p.m.
Quite possibly the biggest supporter of this Friday night is Mike and Carol from Cherry St. Mini Storage in Ukiah. They are the ones who have put up the money to sponsor the night and allow us to host the BCSAR event. Mike and Carol have supported not only Silver Dollar Speedway but numerous drivers over the years. They have been a loyal supporter of Sean Becker and continue to play a key role in his racing at Silver Dollar Speedway.
This Friday night, July 17, the pit gate for the competitors will open at 4 PM. The front gate for the fans will open at 6 PM. Racing is slated to start at 7 PM. Adult general admission is $13.00, juniors and seniors are $11.00, kids $6.00 and under five are free.
With all that said, the racing should be spectacular. Chicos Jonathan Allard has been on a roll. Winner of three in a row 410 sprint car main events and five of the last seven, Allard is having a born again experience at his home track. After struggling big time in the first half of the year, Allard has emerged back to his Gold Cup winning ways and will look to win his 61st career main event this Friday night. Even with the roll Allard has been on, it is still not good enough to knock Sean Becker off his perch. The four-time champion of the Chico still holds a one-point lead over Allard. These two future first round Hall of Fame inductees will be the ones to watch this Friday night.
Four other divisions join this incredible night of racing and demonstrations. The wingless sprints, hobby stocks, Limited Late Models and economy sprints will pack the pits with tons of cars and great on track racing.
