Allard Wins #60, Closes In On Points Lead

CHICO, CA (7-4-15) - Jonathan Allard picked up his third victory in a row and fifth in the last seven events at Silver Dolar Speedway on Saturday night. The most impressive part about it is that the win marked Allard's 60th Career Victory at the Speedway. His first win at Silver Dollar Speedway came on July 4th, 1996; exactly 19 years ago to the day of Saturday's Victory. It's really cool to still be able to come back here this late in my career and pick up wins. I really want to thank Clyde Lamar for all he does for this team. He just had heart surgery last Friday and is here now a week later at the track. It just goes to show how important this race team is to him. stated Allard in Victory Lane. Other winners during Chuck Patterson Points Race #10 included Randy McDaniel in the Dirt Modifieds, Kevin Lesch in the Street Stocks, and Brian Compton in the Hobby Stocks.

Jonathan Allard had the good fortune of drawing the Pole Position for Saturday nights Feature event, and he didn't let that opportunity go to waste. Allard would lead all 25 Laps of the Main Event, nearly uncontested for the popular win aboard the Tri-C Machine #3C. Carson Macedo made a rare, but well appreciated appearance at Silver Dollar Speedway, behind the wheel of the Josh Ford Motorsports #73 Machine. It was great to have that group in Chico for the Fourth of July, and we hope to have them with us more often in the future. Sean Becker piloted the Menne Motorsports #75 to a podium finish in the third slot. The night didn't start out as well for Becker who failed to start the Heat Race with Mag Box issues, it was a great rebound and he was able to retain the points lead over Allard by just one point. Andy Forsberg was back behind the wheel of his famous #92 car on Saturday and was able to secure a fourth place finish. While Tyler Walker rounded out the top five piloting the Richie Rich Motorsports #88x. The scary moment of the night saw Chico, CA driver Brad Bumgarner get sideways on the back straight and got clipped by the #22tr of Michael Tarter who made his second start of 2015. Bumgarner would flip off of turn number three while somehow Tarter was able to continue on. Tarter's night would go up in flames on the White Flag lap as something caught fire in the car and he had to pull to the infield. Both drivers were ok. Heat Race Victories were picked up by Heath Hall and Andy Forsberg. Carson Macedo picked up the first Fast Time Award of his Career at Silver Dollar by way of a blistering fast time of 11.566. That lap turned by Macedo was the fastest lap turned at Silver Dollar Speedway in Qualifying since Gold Cup of 2010 when Sam Hafertepe Jr set quick time at 11.299.

The most exciting main event of the night came by way of the Dirt Modifieds. The race saw an absolute war being waged between Father and Son; Randy and Ryan McDaniel. Randy has not raced much this year in a Dirt Modified at Silver Dollar but he proved he's still got it by picking up his 39th Victory at Silver Dollar since 1999. In order to pick up the victory though he had to hold off the hard charge from son Ryan who has been nearly unbeatable this season. It was great to see both of them in Victory Lane after the race congratulating each other. It just goes to show what a great family sport we have, and what a great family the McDaniel's are. Between Randy and Ryan they have accumulated 104 victories at Silver Dollar Speedway since 1999. Duane Cleveland who led early in the race and battled along with the McDaniel's would come home in the third position. While Alex and Kyle Wilson would round out the Top Five. It was great having the Wilson's back at the Speedway as well and we hope to see them return throughout the season. Heat Race Victories were picked up by Randy McDaniel and Duane Cleveland.

Brian Compton was able to hold off a late race charge by Dustin Massey to pick up his second win of the season, and extend his points lead in the Hobby Stock class. Kyle Allen and Shannon Collins waged war on each other to decide the third position with Allen picking up the position and Collins settling for fourth. Todd Cooper in the #27C Cooper Racing entry rounded out the top five. Dustin Massey and Todd Cooper picked up the Heat Race Victories.

Kevin Lesch piloted the Chico Volkswagen #27 Street Stock to Victory Saturday Night. Chris Warner was able to close the gap late in the race but couldn't get close enough to Lesch to make a move, and would have to settle for the second position. Eddie Hammett had a solid run and finished in the third position which was good enough for him to reclaim the Points Lead from Clinton Earl. Brent Lawrence and Gary Newman rounded out the top five. Brother's Steve and Eddie Hammett each picked up Heat Race Victories during the night.

It was another great fourth of July at Silver Dollar Speedway with fireworks both on and off the racetrack. The stands were packed as was the pit area. We take this upcoming weekend off and the Chuck Patterson Points Chase will resume Friday, July 17th with Points Race #11 presented by Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue.
