CHICO, CA (4-13-15) - The Chuck Patterson Dodge Points Championship Chase returns at the Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday, April 17th. After a weekend off for the Annual Monster Truck show, we return for our third points race of the season. Included in the nights lineup are the 410 Sprint Cars, Dirt Modifieds, Ltd. Late Models, Economy Sprints, and Hobby Stocks. We are pleased to welcome the Alliance Kingdom Builders (AKB) back to the Silver Dollar Speedway in 2015. The last few seasons they have sponsored a race night at the Speedway. AKB is a group out of Paradise, CA that works to assist people in need first within the community. They see this being accomplished through home repairs, disaster relief, and defensible space clean up. They also do volunteer work across the country with relief agencies, churches, and ministries assisting those in need in whatever way they can. The group has even made trips to Mexico and Paraguay to assist those in need there. We are happy to have this great group on board supporting racing at the Silver Dollar Speedway. For more information on AKB please visit their website at alliancekindgombuilders.org.During the last Points Race at the Speedway history was made as Minden, Nevada driver Tanner Thorson picked up his first career win in the RRTP, Abreu Vineyards #88x in the 410 Sprint Cars. He heads into this weekends event the Chuck Patterson Dodge Points Leader for that division. Thorson however will not be on hand for Friday nights event and thus will relinquish the Point Lead after Points Race #3. Jonathan Allard comes into the night 2nd in points followed by Keith Bloom rounding out the top three. Bloom was impressive on opening night for the 410 sprint cars as he led early on in the Main Event and hung around to finish third. He should be a strong contender in 2015 for the Track Championship in the Chuck Wolf Sand & Gravel #19.
For the Dirt Modifieds this will be their first points paying event of 2015. The Dirt Modifieds were part of the Silver Cup Race of Champions in March where Troy Folger and Ryan McDaniel each picked up main event wins. Last years Track Champion Duane Cleveland will look to continue his winning ways in the division as well.
For the Ltd. Late Models, Ryan McDaniel comes into this weekends event the Point Leader by way of winning the first points race for the division. He and Duane Cleveland are always wheel to wheel in this class and it should be an exciting chase for the Championship in 2015.
Justin Henry dominated the first Points Race for the Economy Sprint cars and will take the Points Lead into Points Race #3 on Friday. He will look to pick up where he left off in the first two races of the season, by parking it on the front straight in Victory Lane.
The Cooper Family came out swinging in the Hobby Stock Class for 2015. Brian Cooper heads into Points Race #3 as the Point Leader by way of winning the Opening Main Event for the division. He will have his hands full though as 2013 Champion, Brian Compton will be hot on his heels all season long.
The pit gate is scheduled to open at 4pm for Competitors. While the Front Gate will open at 6pm with Racing scheduled to start at approximately 7pm. Tickets for this event are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and Juniors (12-15), and $6 for Kids ages 6-11. Kids 5 and under are Free.
