Silver Dollar Speedway
New Safety Vehicle Built During Off Season
CHICO, CA (2-8-15) - Silver Dollar Speedway is pleased to announce the latest addition to the racetrack with the safety of our competitors in mind. Over the winter the staff has built a Modern Fire Truck carrying a Rapid Response Foam Tote unit producing 600 gallons of protective foam specifically designed to aid in the quick containment of methanol and hydrocarbon fires seen at the racetrack. The total self contained unit delivers a protective blanket of foam in seconds to extinguish the fire. The unit is nitrogen charged so no power is required and with one lever operation the Rapid Response Foam is immediately ready for use. The 600 gallon tank is mounted on a late model all wheel drive vehicle for quick response to any fire on the track. "Safety of our drivers has always been our number one concern," said track promoter Dennis Gage. "Fire is one of the biggest concerns when you talk to the drivers and we felt it was important to upgrade our existing method of fire response."
