Wells Fargo Presents Autograph Session Before Races This Friday
CHICO, CA (7-14-13) -Â This Friday night July 19 the Silver Dollar Speedway will host an autograph session featuring the top 10 drivers in the 410 winged sprint car division. The autograph session is scheduled to start around 5:55 PM and last until 6:25 PM. We will set up the drivers near the front entrance of the main grandstand. Scheduled drivers that have confirmed to appear are Jonathan Allard, Sean Becker, Jason York and Michael Tarter. Point's race number 13 is presented by Wells Fargo Bank. Five racing divisions will once again be led by the 410 winged sprint cars, Perma-Zyme wingless series, street stocks, economy winged sprints and hobby stocks.
Front gate will open at 6 PM. Adult general admission is $13.00. Seniors and juniors are $11.00. Children ages 6 to 11 are $6.00. Kids five and under are free. As usual, parking is free. Pit gate will open at 4 PM. Fans that arrive early will get a chance to meet the driver's, get autographs and have a chance to buy some of the driver's shirts. Sean Becker is coming off his second win of the year. Becker continues to hold a commanding lead (44 points) over Andy Forsberg. Forsberg has continued to climb up the point championship ladder after an early season mishap. Brad Bumgarner sits in the third spot. The tightest battle is between fourth place Michael Tarter, fifth place Keith Bloom and sixth spot Bud Walberg. Only seven points separate these three drivers.
Rowdy McClenon holds an eleven point advantage over Ron LaPlant in the Perma-Zyme wingless series. Don Emery sits in the third spot. Rookie Taylor Nelson sits fourth. Nathan Johnson rounds out the top five. This will mark the sixth point race of the year for the Perma-Zyme wingless series.
Orland's Jake Vantol didn't get his sixth win of the year this past Friday night but still enjoyed a successful night. He comes into this Friday night with a healthy 37-point lead over Shawn Smith. Mark Newman, Kevin Ward and Richard Workman are all on the heels of Smith.
Kyle Standley will head into Chico this Friday night with the point lead. Standley has been solid all season and looks to hold his advantage over Tony Richards and Dusty Barton.
Two wins in a row for Sacramento's Brian Compton as he continues to lead the Hobby Stock charge. David Pierce has been a great addition to the Hobby Stock series and sits in the second spot. Kyle Allen has continued to improve all season long and sits in the third spot.
