Silver Dollar Speedway
Hot August Deal on Saturday Night
CHICO, CA (7-31-12) -Â For the first time in the modern era of the Silver Dollar Speedway promoter Dennis Gage is trying a stand alone 200 lap Enduro this Saturday night. The Enduro race has been a main stay of the Silver Dollar Fair for the past 12 years. This year's race took place and Brian Compton was the winner. However, this Saturday night, Gage is ready to start a new tradition. The best Enduro Racers in the Western United States are scheduled to come together at the famed Silver Dollar Speedway this Saturday night August 4th. Gage will also dig back into his bag of tricks and entertain the crowd with an Out-House race you must see to believe.
Entries are still pouring into the track office. More competitors are welcomed to send in their entry forms or call the track office at 530-350-7275 for more information. The race itself will start all competitors going 200 laps. After the first 100 laps, there will be a break for the drivers to work on their cars. The Enduro race only has a green and a red flag during racing conditions. If a car breaks down on the track the only way to halt the race is if the driver feels unsafe and waives a white flag. The red flag comes out to stop the other drivers. Once the driver is cleared from the track the race resumes. Yet, the car stays until the next 100 laps are completed. Chico's Wes Brown is the odds on favorite to start a new win streak after Compton ended his domination at the fair races.
This Hot August Deal is just $6 for front gate admission. Front gate opens at 6pm. Racing is slated to start at 7pm. Pit gate will open at 4pm.
