CHICO, CA – AUGUST 16, 2011...With only two more Wells Fargo Point Championship races remaining; it’s time to have a little fun with the kids. This Friday night, August 19, the annual Kids Bike Night and BMX races will take place on the race track after all the heat races are completed. Many of the race car drivers come over and help with the festivities. Drivers have been known to waive the green flag, checkered flag and even hand out the trophies and ribbons. It’s all about creating a family atmosphere at the Silver Dollar Speedway.
Adding to the excitement is the large selection of free things for kids 11 and under. First off, all kids who come to the races 11 and under will be admitted free. Once inside the grandstand front gate, each kid will receive a coupon for popcorn and a small soda. The kids will also receive a raffle ticket for later in the night.
The highlights of the night for the kids will include the chance to ride their own BMX style bike on the track and compete against kids in their own age bracket. Each kid that races will win a trophy or ribbon. On top of that, for the first time ever, we are going to give away two free bikes. There will be one for a boy and one for a girl. The bikes have been donated by G&R Roofing INC. from Chico, Gate Minder from Chico and Chippewa Pest Control, INC. from Paradise. We will also raffle off two $50.00 gift certificates from Greenline Cycle from Oroville and a free bicycle tune-up courtesy of The Bicycle Wheel from Chico.
The Mootz family and ManCamp Motorsports, two of the biggest supports of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway will also have special items for the kids and candy to be given away throughout the night. Aaron’s, the nation's leader in the sales and lease ownership, is also scheduled to be there with other fan friendly hand outs and give-a-ways.
Front gate opens at 6pm, with racing scheduled around 7pm. Adult general admission is $12.00 while juniors and seniors are $10.00. Kids 11 and under are FREE. The Mini Modified Madness, 410 winged sprints, Street Stocks, Dirt Solution Limited Late Models and the Hobby Stocks are scheduled to appear. Tonight will host a five racing divisions with too many attractions to stay at home.
