Rain Cancels Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial at Chico
CHICO, CA (5-7-11) -Â A pesky storm system moved into the Chico area quicker than expected and washed away the Saturday night Golden State King of the West sprint car series round #5. Tonight's race was also the 21st Annual Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. Thirty-three sprint cars and 10 dirt modifieds had entered the event. A light drizzle started to come down during sprint car qualifying. Once qualifying was complete the skies opened up and rain started falling on the race track. The push vehicles were sent back onto the track in hopes to keep the moisture build up at a minimum. Yet, the rain was just too much to keep up with and the track became a muddy mess. After that, it was decided to cancel the night's racing. As of this press release there was no information released if this event will be rescheduled.
