Three Day Gold Cup Tickets on Sale April 7
CHICO, CA (4-3-11) -Â The pinnacle event at Silver Dollar Speedway has always been the Gold Cup Race of Champions. As usual this event takes place in early September and features four nights of consecutive racing. This year's version has been slightly modified to include non-wing sprints and midgets on Thursday night with the World of Outlaws racing on Friday and Saturday night. On April 7th race fans will have the opportunity to purchase three day Gold Cup tickets by calling the track office at (530) 350-7275. Phone lines will be open at 10 am on Thursday. This will give fans a chance to secure seating for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday night events.
The 58th running of the Gold Cup Race of Champions will begin on Wednesday night, September 7, and conclude on Saturday night, September 10. The Civil War Series and Joe Hunt Magnetos wingless sprints kick off the four night event on Wednesday. Activities taking place in between the racing on the track includes the Clyde Lamar Golf Classic, Joe Hunt Magnetos Miss Gold Cup Bikini contest and the gold cup racing fans barbecue on Saturday afternoon.
On the same day, April 7th, for any fans who have reserved a camping spot for the Gold Cup but not paid those spots will be released to the public. If you want to save your spot please call the track office and or send in your payment.
The fastest four days in dirt track racing will once again take place during the 58th annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at the Silver Dollar Speedway on September 7 through the 10th.
