Lap 13 saw Stanford move into the second spot. Adding to the good racing was Cleveland who was making it a three car race for the lead. After lap 20 the race turned into an epic finish. On lap 21 Stanford passed Turner for the lead. Stanford was running the bottom and Turner would start low and try to drift up through the turns. Stanford took the white flag as the leader. Going into turn one Stanford missed the bottom just a bit and slid up the track. Turner got a great run and was able to sling shot by Stanford for the lead. Turner dove back to the bottom and blocked Stanford. It was a great move that proved to be the winning decision. Turner came out of turn four and won the race. Stanford was second and Cleveland third. Kellen Chadwick did is always fast and did a great job all night. Chadwick started eighth and finished fourth. Ryan McDaniel rebounded from an early problem that sent him into the pit area and back out onto the track at the rear of the field. McDaniel raced his way back to a fifth place finish.
Curtis Towns started fourth and went on to win the 10-lap dirt modified B main event. Ryan McDaniel picked up the win in heat one. Duane Cleveland led all eight laps to win heat two. Kellen Chadwick was impressive in heat three. He started fifth and won the race. Turner did an an awesome job in heat four. He started sixth and won the race with a late lap pass.
The dirt modifieds really put on a great show this weekend at the speedway. It was nice to see so many cars in the pit area. The racing on the speedway was very competitive and this weekend was a chance for fans to enjoy the dirt modified's at their finest.
