CHICO, CA (8-24-09) - The final Friday night Feather Falls Casino point race of the year will take place August 28 at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Championship night will include all four regular racing divisions. The 410 sprints, dirt modifieds, street stocks and the wingless sprints will all be on hand to finish out the year. All four divisions will crown a 2009 champion on this night.

It is Fan Appreciation night at the ASA Sanctioned speedway. Admission is only $5.00. Kids under the age of 11 will be admitted free. The pit gate will open at 3 pm. The front grandstand gate will open an hour earlier at 5 pm. Sprint car qualifying is slated to start at 7 pm.

Napa Auto Parts of Orland, Cherry St. Mini Storage and Coca-Cola products are the night's sponsors. Fans will have the chance to receive great prizes on this night courtesy of Napa Auto Parts.

Bobby McMahan is the front runner to win the 410 sprint car championship. He holds a 27-point lead over Mark Hall. It's been chronicled throughout the season that while sprint car racing may be a young man's sport both McMahan and Hall have turned back the hands of time this season. The two drivers have more on track racing experience combined, 52 years, than the combined age of the next three drivers in the point standings. For McMahan it really has been a dream season. He has one main event victory while finishing every main event inside the top 10. It would also mark his first point championship of his career. He finished second three times while racing with the Northern Auto Racing Club. The championship would also provide Steve Harris Racing with the goal they set out to achieve. Give rookie driver Kyle Harris a mentor in Bobby McMahan and allow McMahan to go after the championship. As of now and to quote a military term for the www.racingforthetroops.com team, Mission Accomplished.

It has been the year of the rocket man. Chico's Mark Abouzeid will conclude his dream year with a chance to capture his first dirt modified championship. In seven starts this year, Abouzeid has not finished outside the top five in main event action. He won five main events in a row only to be derailed by two former track champions Ryan and Randy McDaniel. With all of his accolades the championship is not his just yet. Darin Ruley has battled him all season and sits 23-points behind Abouzeid. If Abouzeid does not start the main event there is still a slim chance Ruley could sneak by. However, if Abouzeid takes the green flag the championship will be his.

Wingless driver Jimmy Pettit won his second main event of the season last week. While car counts have been down this year Pettit is still the cream of the crop. Jay Youngman sits 21-points out of the lead. Youngman has been a great challenger to Pettit all season. Youngman has won main event win. Pettit can control his own destiny on Friday night by also just taking the green flag in the main event and the championship is his.

Heather Bartlett started off this season with one thing on her agenda, a Silver Dollar Speedway championship. Along the way she has won four main events and took control of the standings after Phil Marino's mechanical problems sidelined his hopes. For the past three seasons Bartlett has become Silver Dollar Speedway's most popular driver. The past two seasons she has watched other drivers win the street stock title. In 2009, the #99 will finally be on the front straight celebrating with her family as the new champion of the track. As with the other division leaders once Bartlett takes the green flag in the main event the championship will belong to her.
