WISSOTA Street Stock Tour Visits Rice Lake Speedway
Rice Lake WI – Coming off a spectacular July 3rd Firecracker special at the Rice Lake Speedway that saw Jason VandeKamp crowned as the winner of the 9th annual K-Runk Memorial Race, the special events continue at northern Wisconsin's home for dirt track racing since 1952.
This time the Street Stocks will be in the featured division when on Saturday night, July 12th, the Dirt Race Central.tv Street Stock Tour visits the Rice Lake Speedway for the very first time.
Acknowledged as “ground zero” for WISSOTA Street Stocks with the annual Little Dream Race that pays thirty or more thousand dollars to the winner of that event, the DRC.tv Street Stock Tour has nevertheless never appeared at Rice Lake before.
When current owners of the speedway, Rice Lake Speedway LLC bought the track last Spring, it was too late to get on the 2024 tour but one of their first off season moves last Fall was to secure a date on the 2025 tour. Fans of WISSOTA racing are familiar with how well the Street Stocks race and this race will likely serve as a warm up for many of the drivers for the Little Dream which is slated for July 27th.
The current point leader of the Tour is Kyle Dykhoff from Perham Minnesota. Iron River's Andrew Hanson, despite destroying his car recently and now using Rice Lake Speedway co-owner Kolby Kiehl's car, is only fifteen points behind Dykhoff in the point standings. Nick Traynor, who has been virtually unbeatable at Rice Lake so far in 2025, stands just two more points behind Hanson in third. Justin Vogel and young Levi Randt round out the top five.
Standing sixth through tenth currently are Jeff Ekdahl, Hunter Carter, Tommy Pogones, Ashley Wampler and Jim Gullikson complete the top ten.
A big field of drivers is expected for the Saturday night show with drivers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota and possibly Canada all slated to be in Rice Lake, racing for series points, a head start on being ready for the Little Dream, and oh yes, the one thousand dollars that goes to the race winner.
In addition to the Street Stock Tour event, a full program of the four other WISSOTA classes that race weekly at the track, the Modifieds, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks and Pure Stocks will all be in action in a full, points program of their own.
Pit gates open at 3 pm, grandstand gates at 4 pm and race time is 6 pm. For the latest information on this race and coming events at the speedway, watch the speedway website at www.ricelakespeedway.net and the face book page of the track.
The Rice Lake Speedway is locate one mile North of Rice Lake Wisconsin midway between state highway 48 and Barron County highway
