Circle the dates for 7th annual Big Buck 50, coming Oct. 1-3 to Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (August 12, 2020) - One of America’s biggest Street Stock races returns to Lucas Oil Speedway this fall with the 7th annual Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt, a three-night event capped with a $10,000-to-win final-night 50-lap feature.
The three-night event - which includes full Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Model programs the final two nights - is scheduled for Oct. 1-3. Once again, the Big Buck 50 winner also will receive a free entry, valued at more than $3,000, into the prestigious Whitetail Trophy Hunt in mid-Missouri this fall.
"We're grateful to Craig Danuser, owner of Whitetail Trophy Hunt, and all our sponsors for making this race possible," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said, noting he’s looking forward to making this year’s final edition of the event the biggest yet. Starting in October of 2021, the USRA Fall Nationals will move to Lucas Oil Speedway and include USRA Stock Cars.
Last year’s Big Buck 50 saw 107 entries with Peyton Taylor of Batesville, Arkansas, capturing the victory.
Practice is set for Oct. 1 for both Street Stocks and ULMA Late Models, plus time trials for the Street Stocks. Qualifying heat races are set for Friday, Oct. 2 along with dashes for the top two finishers in each heat to set the field for the first 16 position of Saturday’s feature. Alphabet mains on Saturday will finalize the field for the main event.
Download the Big Buck 50 entry form and submit before Oct. 1 for a $100 entry fee and save $25 on the entry. Payout for the race will be: 1st - $10,000; 2nd - $5,000; 3rd - $2,500; 4th - $1,500. 5th - $1,250. 6th - $1,000. 7th - $900. 8th - $850. 9th - $800. 10th - $750. 11th - $700. 12th - 650. 13th - $600. 14th - $550. 15th -24th - $500. Non-transfers $200.
The ULMA Late Models will run full programs with $1,000-to-win features on both Friday and Saturday. For the second straight year, the Lucas Cattle Company ULMA National Champion will be crowned on Oct. 3. Track points leader Cole Henson currently holds a 22-point lead over Larry Ferris in ULMA national points.
More about the Whitetail Trophy Hunt: The only way to now gain entry in the 2020 Whitetail Trophy Hunt is to win the Big Buck 50 as this year’s hunt has long been sold out. Visit whitetail.net for info on the 2021 hunt, which is set for Nov. 13-15 of 2021.
This fall marks the 32nd anniversary of the Whitetail Trophy Hunt at Lake of the Ozarks. Event dates will be Nov. 14-16. This tremendously popular hunt brings in participants from all over the United States and abroad. Entries are limited to a maximum of 220 hunters.
Over $4 million in cash and prizes has been awarded over the years to many fortunate whitetail hunters. Plus, the five year Show-me Showdown is in its last year for the 2019 hunt. This promotion will provide an additional cash bonus prize fund that can go up to $55,000.

This Saturday, $1,000-to-win Late Models: The O’Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks will be in action this Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway during the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series. Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models will have a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win feature to headline the program, which will also include Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods and Pure Stocks as a guest class with a $300-to-win feature.
Two-seater raffle: Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win a ride in the Lucas Oil Speedway 2-Seater Late Model, driven by track General Manager Danny Lorton, during intermission. All proceeds from the raffle will go toward the Ozarks Area Racers Foundation, via the Promoters' Race that Lorton will participate in on Aug. 20 at Dallas County Speedway during the USMTS Wehr's Machine Bullring Bash.
Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the evening with the winning ticket drawn just prior to intermission. Tickets will be sold for $2 each, six for $10 or 12 for $20. Fans must be 18 years of age or older to participate and sign a waiver form.
The starting lineup for the Aug. 20 Promoters' Race will be determined by how much each promoter raises for the Ozarks Area Racers Foundation, a non-profit group that preserves area racing history and holds an annual Reunion and Hall of Fame ceremony each winter.
Kids club pit tour: The Frogs Signs Junior Fan Club Kids Pit Tour also continues as eight lucky kids will get to tour the pits before the races with flagman Mike Striegel to get an up-close look at the cars and drivers. The tour will be from 5:15-6 p.m. and then the kids will get to attend the drivers' meeting before going back to the grandstands.
Youngsters ages 5-12 can sign up from 4-5 p.m. on the midway, next to the gift shop trailer on the south end of the midway. Parents will have to sign a waiver form allowing the kids to go into the pits for the tour.
"Beat the Heat, Sit in a Suite" again this week: The "Beat the Heat" special will continue at the dirt track with individual suite tickets available at $24 apiece. Spectators can sit in air-conditioned comfort or view the action from seats outside, overlooking the front stretch. Contact admissions director Nichole McMillan (417) 282-5984 for more info.
