Davis, Gentry, Mercer, Bayer and Peterson win rain delayed A Features

The night was delayed for 2 hours after only 2 heats for lightening, then a downpour. The Creek County Staff did a remarkable job getting the track back in shape to resume the nights program resulting in a very fast racing surface. The Micros have this Friday off (7/21/17) for a special ASCS Sprint Car show but we will be back racing July 28th. We look forward to seeing everyone back then!

A Class
Point leader Hank Davis took the lead on lap 2 and cruised to his 3rd A Feature win of the year. Hunter Little ran 2nd until lap 13 when mechanical problems ended his night. Jeffrey Newell gave chase in 2nd the rest of the way, followed by Ryan Mushrush in 3rd, Ryan Hunt 4th and Shawn Wicker rounding out the top 5. Davis and Newell won heats.

Jr Sprint
Joshua Gentry passed early leader Jase Blevins on lap 3 and led the rest of the way to claim his 7th A feature win of the year. Jase Blevins held onto 2nd ahead of Hayden Mabe, Parker Scheulen and Kylee Young. Gentry also won the heat.

Restricted
Grady Mercer jumped out to an early lead and won his 3rd A Feature of the year. After early season woes Mercer is finding his groove as the car to beat. Jeremiah Green came on to finish an impressive 2nd. Rees Day Moran steadily worked his way to 3rd ahead of Caleb Pence and Gage Laney. Laney took the point lead from Spencer Mason. Only 5 points seperate the top 3 of Laney, Mason and Moran in a very competitive Restricted Class. Green and Mercer also won heats after the rain delay.

Outlaw
Kevin Bayer passed Shane Hacker on lap 6 and led the rest of the way of the 20 lap A feature. Point leader Hank Davis gave chase and closed in on Bayer until a lap 15 caution. On the restart Bayer kept his distance from Davis to win his 3rd A feature of the year. Jase Randolph was 3rd with Blaine Denney and Shane Weeks rounding out the top 5. Bayer and Davis were heat winners.

Sportsman
Taylor Peterson led from start to finish to win the 15 lap race over 2nd place Kaimron Schoonover. Larry Martinez was 3rd while Bobby McIntosh passed Troy Minton at the half way point for 4th. Minton held on to 5th ahead of point leader Kayla Ward. First year driver Schoonover won the heat.

Non Wing
Point leader Hank Davis raced from his 8th starting spot to take the lead from early leader Ethan Wicker on lap 15 to nab his 4th A feature of the year. Wicker remained in 2nd with Thad Bennett coming home 3rd. Greg Emeterio Jr worked his way to 4th ahead of lap 1 leader Chris Crawford who rounded out the top 5. Bennett and Davis were heat winners.
