Transponders
All race teams are strongly encouraged to purchase a personal transponder for use in the 2024 season and beyond. The MyLaps transponder is used at all Central Pennsylvania race tracks as well as with the World Of Outlaw Sprint Car Series.
Owning your own transponder will not only save you money but cut down in registration time as all speedways will then have your serial number on file.
To obtain a transponder, simply use the SHOP link at the top of the mylaps.com website. The TR2 Transponder – Car is the newest transponder and comes in the re-chargeable model as well as direct power for late models.
For $177, you will receive a transponder and charging cradle as well as a 1-year subscription and lifetime warranty on the transponder as long as you have an active subscription. For a transponder and 2-year subscription, the cost is $251 or $125 per year. A 5-year subscription with transponder is $440 or $90 per year.
At the conclusion of your subscription, you simply purchase a new subscription using that same transponder. After the initial purchase, a yearly subscription is approximately $120 (even less if you choose a long term).
$177 is the equivalent of renting a transponder for only 18 races. Beginning in 2024, to encourage drivers to obtain their own transponder, Port Royal Speedway will increase the rental cost to $25 per event for ALL divisions.
