New Passing Points Formula and Change to Delaware Restart Lineup

Procedure Planned for WISSOTA 100 and MPH Invitational

Attention all competitors racing at this year’s Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100 and MPH Invitational!

We are introducing a new passing point system to be used throughout the MPH Invitational and WISSOTA 100 weekends.

The new system will better reward drivers for passing cars and will also penalize drivers for losing spots. This system, used by the ASCS National Sprint Car Series as well as other series, and events across the country, provides a greater opportunity to earn points for solid performances in heat races, leading to better chances of contending for wins on championship Saturday night. The passing points chart with all details can be found in the attached link.

Also, the Delaware double file restart procedure will change slightly at both the MPH and WISSOTA 100 as well. On all restarts, the leader will still have the front row to themselves and the second-place driver will be able to choose inside or outside like normal. From there, everyone will simply line up opposite the driver in front of them. This means, if second chooses in, then all even numbered running positions go in. If second chooses out, then all even numbered running positions go out.

The Challenge Series has been doing this all season as a test and it works great. The basic thing to remember is – the 4 th place driver does not automatically go to the inside for this event – they simply go opposite where the third-place driver goes and everyone follows suit behind.
