Virginia Motor Speedway’s 50th Anniversary Season Features Exciting Special Events and Largest Pro (Crate) Late Model Race Ever

Jamaica, VA – With the 50th Anniversary season for Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway quickly approaching, officials are excited to announce the special events already set for 2019. Highlighting the special events will be two $20,000 to win super late model events, a $10,000 to win 410 sprint car event, two mud bogs and the $50,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship.

The speedway’s first special event will see the return of 410 sprint cars to the ½ mile speed plant and the State of Virginia. Tony’s Stewart’s Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions Series will make its debut on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The $10,000 to win and $1000 to start event will be the first time in nine years that 410 sprint cars have raced at the famed facility in Jamaica, VA. Series owner and 3-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart will race in the event that will be dubbed “Thursday Thunder”. The UMP Modifieds will be the support division and race in a $3000 to win event. Ticket pricing and more details will be released soon.

The speedway will then turn around and get the facility ready for the $20,000 to win King of the Commonwealth set for Saturday, April 20, 2019. The event will once again be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. The event will also include a $3000 to win event for FASTRAK Racing Series Pro (Crate) Late Model competitors. The event has a Sunday, April 21st rain date, if needed.

Returning once again to the 2019 schedule will be the $20,000 to win USA 100 scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2019. The event will also be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. A $3000 to win FASTRAK Racing Series Pro (Crate) Late Model event is also set for that Saturday. The event has a Sunday, June 16th rain date, if needed.

Also, returning to the special event calendar with a huge purse increase will be the FASTRAK World Championship set for Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, 2019. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary season the event that has paid $20,000 to win the last two seasons will now pay $50,000 to win the 60-lap event and $2050 just to start the feature. The purse increase will make this the highest paying event in the history of crate late model racing as well as making it the highest paying short-track event in the State of Virginia.

If you are into trucks and mud then the two scheduled mud bogs will be right up your alley. The Pit at Virginia Motor Speedway will host two of the East Coast’s premier racing mud bogs on Saturday, May 20, 2019 and Saturday, October 5, 2019. Both the May 20th Mud Mayhem and October 5th Run A Muck Mud Bog and Mud Sling will feature 11 divisions of mud maniacs in action. The October 5th mud bog has an October 12th rain date, if needed.

The remaining 2019 schedule will be released soon. Fans and competitors can stay tuned to both the speedway’s website and Facebook channel for the release of the schedule and 2019 division rules packages.
