VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY HEADED TO MOTORSPORTS 2012 SHOW

Jamaica, VA - Virginia Motor Speedway is headed to the 27th Annual Motorsports 2012 presented by SEF Small Engine Fuel January 20-22, 2012. The popular show produced by Len Sammons Productions is back to the Philadelphia, PA area once again for the 27th anniversary show and will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

Motorsports 2012 Presented by SEF Small Engine Fuel will cover close to 220,000 square feet of the Expo Center with more than 600 exhibit areas offering just about everything automotive. Close to 200 racecars will be on display and there will be appearances by many of the top names in the sport along with many local and regional stars including David Pearson, John Force, Rusty Wallace, Kenny Wallace and many others.

Fans that come by the Virginia Motor Speedway booth (#604) will get a chance to see the speedway’s 2007 Victory Lap Late Model Champion and 2010 World of Outlaws Late Model Rookie of the Year Austin Hubbard of Seaford, DE and the familiar #11 Commonwealth 100 sponsored Rocket. Also featured in the VMS booth will be our own General Manager Clarke Sawyer’s Anxious Mud Dragster to promote our mud bog events.

The VMS booth will host two autograph sessions the first being Saturday January 21st from 3-5pm and will feature 2010 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year and current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series candidate Austin Hubbard. On Sunday January 22nd the VMS booth will host an autograph session from 12 – 2pm with 2006 VMS Victory Lap Late Model Champion and two-time Steel Block Bandits Champion Walker Arthur being joined by VMS General Manager Clarke Sawyer.

Fans will also have the opportunity to order their advance tickets for the April 13-14, 2012 Commonwealth 100 at a substantial discount while visiting the VMS booth (#604). Advance two-day adults tickets are $30; two-day Senior and Military $27 and advance two-day student (7-17 years old) tickets only $15.

A $25,000 prize is once again earmarked for the winner of the Commonwealth 100, which will offer a cash purse totaling over $125,000. The Commonwealth 100 will pay $2,000 to start, and a 30-lap Non-Qualifiers’ Race will boast a $3,000 first-place award from a purse of nearly $16,000.

Time trials and heat races will be run on Fri., April 15, with B-mains, non-qualifiers races and the Commonwealth 100 on Sat., April 16. A rain date of Sun., April 17, has been established for the event

For fans not attending Motorsports 2012 there are two ways to purchase tickets: Visit www.vamotorspeedway.com to download the advance ticket order form and send it in with a money order or cashiers check. No personal checks will be accepted. Or fans wanting to purchase tickets using a credit card can call the speedway at 804-758-1867 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Mastercard, Visa and Discover cards accepted. All seats are general admission.

Drivers can save too by entering early! The early entry fee of $150 not only saves you $50 off the regular $200 price but also includes the drivers $50 two-day pit pass making the driver’s savings a total of $100. All advance sales of tickets and pre-entry deadline is April 1st 2010.

Fans can also save money by camping on the speedway grounds. There will be no charge to camp (no hookups) in designated areas.
