Schuett picks up another top 10 finish in POWRi competition

Dupo, IL (August 4, 2015) After suffering two nights of engine trouble last weekend, Kyle Schuett returned to the seat of his Esslinger powered Boss Chassis this past weekend hoping for two good nights of racing. On Saturday night, the Lucas Oil POWRi midgets made their first visit of the season to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, where youngster Gage Walker picked up his first POWRi A-main win. Sunday saw the POWRi midgets and micros make their return to Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois, where another young racer, Spencer Bayston, picked up his second POWRi A-main win.
Making his first visit to Tri-State Speedway in the midget, Kyle was quickly introduced to the fast quarter mile dirt track that racers love and fans go crazy over. In heat race action, Kyle started fifth and was up to third before being passed near the end. He settled for a fourth place finish. Based on passing points, this put the Schuett Racing, Inc, Illiana Insurance Agency #9K starting 10th in the 30-lap A-main event. After falling back early, Kyle recovered and moved forward up to sixth. A mid-race caution involving two cars in front of him eventually moved the rookie contender up to third. Unfortunately the tricky Tri-State Speedway got the better of Kyle a few times and he fell back to fifth before spinning out in front of Boss Chassis teammate, Austin Brown. With nowhere to go, Brown got into the side of Kyle and ended his night early. Kyle was credited with a sixth place finish; another top 10 for the first year midget racer.

On Sunday night, Kyle and his Schuett Racing team made another visit to the POWRi home track in Belleville, Illinois. A high pill draw put Kyle starting eighth in his heat race. Racing hard with some great competitors, Kyle was able to advance two positions for a sixth place finish. Again based on passing points, this put Kyle lining up 14th in the 30-lap A-main. Making passes and moving forward, Kyle had moved comfortably into the top 10 before getting caught up when a car spun in front of him. After restarting at the tail of the field, young Schuett was able to move forward again and end the night with a 15th place finish.

In the highly competitive POWRi National series, Kyle Schuett continues to show his driving talents each race weekend. He has made nearly every A-main event this year and has put together some great results, including a season high third place finish at Jacksonville Speedway earlier this year. He continues to sit comfortably in the top five in POWRi points and still maintains the lead in the POWRi Rookie of the Year standings as well. Up next for Kyle will be another big, fast track, as the POWRi midgets team up with the World of Outlaw sprint cars at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri this coming weekend. If you are in the area, this is one weekend you won’t want to miss! Be sure to come by the Schuett Racing trailer and pick up your Kyle Schuett hero card and say hello to the team.

Kyle and his Schuett Racing team would like to thank everyone for their support and a big thank you to season sponsors - Illiana Insurance Agency, Progressive Propane, Bergfield Farms, KBR Performance, Rod End Supply, FK Indy, Hoosier Tire Midwest, AMSOIL by Roger Clapp, Steve Thomas Racing, Bell Racing, ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, BOSS Chassis, R & B Powdercoating, J & K Rentals, and Keizer Wheels.
