Previewing the World of Outlaws at Huset’s Speedway
Brandon, SD—June 30, 2010— After Mother Nature was victorious both nights last season, the World of Outlaws will make their return to Huset’s Speedway in South Dakota on Thursday, July 1, which kicks off a stretch of six straight short track races as the 2010 season kicks into high gear.
Craig Dollansky won both events the World of Outlaws ran at Huset’s Speedway in 2008, battling four-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz in the first one and then pacing all 35 laps in the second visit to the high-banked bullring. The veteran has won a total of six wins in his career at Huset’s Speedway.
Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champion, has won six times in his career with the World of Outlaws at the high-banked bullring, with the most recent of those coming in 2003. He has made 30 starts with the series at the track, which is the most of any driver along with Danny Lasoski. Kinser has 23 Top-10 finishes with the World of Outlaws at Huset’s Speedway and an average finish of 6.2 dating back to 1983.
Danny Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaws champion, who is also a three-time Huset’s Speedway track champion, has 40 career wins at the track, though he is still chasing his first victory in a World of Outlaws event there.
Donny Schatz, the four-time and defending series champion, has won twice with the World of Outlaws and four times overall in his career at Huset’s Speedway. He has racked up 14 Top-10 finishes with the series at the track with seven of those being Top-Five performances.
Joey Saldana, the current World of Outlaws point leader has finished in the Top-10 seven times in his career at Huset’s Speedway as he looks for his first win at the high-banked bullring.
Jason Meyers, who is currently tied for the series lead in wins with six this season has finished in the Top-10 in seven of his eight career starts at the track with four of those being Top-Five runs.
