LSS: AUG. 20 RAINED OUT; SEPT 3 SHOOTOUT NEXT; SPRINTS on HORIZON

Kilgore TX (8/19/16) by DarinShort.com. In the interest of time, we're going to shuck right down to the cob on this top-line press release from LoneStar Speedway (LSS):

  1. BAD NEWS: The ASCS Gulf South Sprint Cars are rained out, along with the complete racing program, for Saturday, August 20th. No racing will take place at LoneStar Speedway this weekend in any division. We have received too much rain to dry out - especially since there is little to no 'sun' drying time forecast between now and then. If anything, more rain is forecast. Please submit complaints to #BadMamaNature.

  2. GOOD NEWS: We will now host the Sprint Car Bandits Series Season Championship event on Saturday, October 1st. Event details will be forthcoming within a couple of weeks. All LoneStar divisions will also race in this points event (as previously scheduled). Those of you who attended the first Sprint Car Bandits event at LoneStar on June 25th were treated to a wild 'slide-by-slide' feature race with a very dramatic conclusion. Click https://www.youtube.com/user/DarinShortcom/videos for a refresher of the racing action from that night.

  3. UP NEXT: Our next event will be on Labor Day weekend, Saturday September 3rd with a TWMA vs. A-L-T Winged Modified Shootout, plus a complete LSS points event for all division.

Here's more info on the September 3rd event: $1,000 to win in the high powered LoneStar Modifieds, $500 to win for the Limited Modifieds, plus $300 to win in the Factory Stocks. Plus, fans will be treated to the TWMA vs. A-L-T Winged Modified Shootout. The new FWD 4-Cylinders will round out the 5-division racing program. The event will be held at LoneStar Speedway (LSS), located near Kilgore TX, right off of I-20 and Exit 583 (then 1/2 mile north and 1 mile east).

Race fans can take in this huge night of racing for just $15 adult general grandstand admission (ages 12-64). Kids ages 6-11 are $5, while Seniors and Military are $12. All pit passes for all ages remain at $30.

LSS makes a perfect 'battle ground' for the Texas Winged Modified Association vs. Ark-La-Tex Winged Modified Shootout. We're looking forward to seeing the two groups spar on the LSS high-banks for 'Round 2'. Complete purse breakdown and rules are posted at their respective series websites (located near the bottom of this press release).

Fans can expect a great matchup of Winged Modified drivers such as Steve Adrian, Eddie Grmela, Scott Trowell, Kodey Keimig, Rex Adrian, David Suggs, Korey Keim, Kadale Kolar, Dale Wester, David Flanagan, Terry Trowell, Mike Marusak, Teddy White, Charlie Davidson, Terry White, David Clements, Alan Myers, Callie Lee, David Williams, Ron Golden and Tommy Hall...plus some 'invaders' are never out of the question.

No mufflers are required in any LSS division (unless your sanctioning body requires them).

A complete event flyer, division rules and payback by division for the Saturday September 3rd event is posted at www.LoneStarSpeedway.com under the ‘news’ section.

Here are some quick facts for the Saturday September 3rd LoneStar Speedway event:

-Pits open at 4pm, Grandstands open by 6pm, LSS divisions Draw Cut off at 7pm, LSS Drivers Meeting at 7:10pm, Hot laps at 7:45pm and Racing at 8pm. Note that we may adjust hot lap times slightly, as in the summer we wait for the sun to go behind the grandstand so it is not hitting the track surface directly.

-General Admission just $15 (ages 12 to 64)

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5

-Ages 5 and under admitted free with adult admission

  • Military or Senior (Ages 65+) General Admission: $12

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section for $5 per person

-All Pit Passes for all ages are $30

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available

-Visit www.LoneStarSpeedway.com to check it out all of the event flyer, details, rules, purse breakdown; etc.

-For Winged Modified series information, click www.TexasWingModifiedAssociation.com and www.facebook.com/ArkLaTexWingModifieds

While Mother Nature is wrapping up her latest 2016 weather shenanigans, we'll just have to wait to get on the high banks. In the meantime, we'll look forward to a FANtastic night of racing at LoneStar Speedway on Saturday September 3rd, with the Winged Modified Shootout plus all LSS divisions, we hope you can join us for a night of fun and action, all at family-affordable prices!
