Inside Line Promotions – EAGLE, Neb. (May 14, 2015) – Jack Dover is amped to head to a pair of tracks with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series this weekend.

Dover will compete on Friday at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and on Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D., where the event is co-sanctioned with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.

Dover’s most recent trip to Rapid Speedway yielded a fourth-place result during a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event in 2012.

“I charged from sixth to win the heat race that night to lock myself into the feature redraw,” he said. “Unfortunately I drew the highest number and started behind some really talented cars. It was a fun track though and I’m looking forward to heading back there.”

Dover was victorious at Park Jefferson International Speedway last year. The win kicked off a four-race winning streak, including three in one weekend for the first time in his career.

“Hopefully we can win this Saturday and get on another winning streak,” he said. “I usually get around that track pretty well so I know that as long as we don’t have any bad luck we’ll be in contention to win.”

Dover was doomed by bad luck during his most recent race at the track last August, when he was running third before a parts failure resulted in a wild flip.

“Racing can change so quickly,” he said. “We won the first race and that ignited a winning streak, but we crashed the other time at Park Jefferson and it tore up a bunch of stuff. All you can do is be prepared, make smart decisions and hope luck falls your way.”

Dover is coming off his 410ci sprint car season debut last Friday at Eagle Raceway with the FVP National Sprint League. The event kicked off with Dover qualifying 23rd quickest, which started him on the pole of a heat race.

“We didn’t qualify as well as we wanted and didn’t have as strong of a start in the heat race,” he said. “It’s tough to be on top of your game when you don’t race 410s very often and you hardly qualify. We got better throughout the night and we learned a few things we can do the next time.”

Dover, who placed third in his heat to lock himself into the main event, spent most of the feature battling just outside the top 15 before he ended with a 19th-place result.
