TKS Motorsports and Ryan Giles unveil new look and competitive schedule for 2022 season

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (March 28, 2022) - In just a few, short days, TKS Motorsports and newly hired gun, Ryan Giles, will hit the ground running, set to make their 2022 debut in an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series / Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) doubleheader at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2. Battling for a total weekend winner’s share equaling $7,000, Giles and TKS Motorsports hope to utilize their 48 hours in West Burlington as a shakedown, rapidly preparing for their quest toward a Knoxville Raceway track championship, which will commence with the speedway’s season opener on Saturday, April 16.

“It’s been a long winter, but the race season is finally here, and I think we are more than ready to hit the track with Ryan Giles this weekend at 34 Raceway,” Troy Renfro stated, owner of the Mitchellville, Iowa-based TKS Motorsports operation. “As it is for any team and new driver, we will have some learning to overcome, but we have no doubts that Ryan, as well as his family, will fit right in with our TKS Motorsports family.”

Dubbed the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, will be the team’s main point of focus in 2022, mixing in starts at other nearby staples including Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, and Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. In addition, the team will make appearances at other surrounding facilities including Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa, I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska, Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, and the aforementioned 34 Raceway in eastern Iowa.

“We appreciate the continued support from all of our partners. We would not be here without each and every one of them,” Renfro continued. “In addition, we would like to welcome all of our new partners including Albaugh LLC, Iowa Barnstormers, Barron Equipment & Overhead Doors, Hicklin Powersports, Omega Concrete Mixers, United Classic Body & Paint, Mipa Professional Coating System, Lapland Distributing LLC, and Serenity Custom Woodworking. We are proud to be associated with all of our new and returning partners, and we will do our part in representing each of them at the highest level.”

The upcoming season will also lead TKS Motorsports to a few of sprint car racing’s marquee events such as the Huset’s High Bank Nationals on June 23-25, the coveted Knoxville Nationals on August 10-13, and the Jackson Nationals on August 18-20, each of which sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Speaking of the Greatest Show On Dirt, TKS Motorsports will ultimately conclude their 2022 campaign with one final appearance with the nation’s finest at I-80 Speedway on October 14.

In all, Ryan Giles and TKS Motorsports will participate in roughly 40 events during the coming season with the intent to expand on those plans in 2023.

“I'm looking forward to getting things kicked-off with the TKS Motorsports team this weekend in West Burlington,” Ryan Giles stated, an accomplished 360 sprint racer who finished third in the 2021 Knoxville Raceway 360 standings. “I'm thankful for the opportunity Troy and Tammy have given me and I’m excited to further my career in the 410 class. Troy has our car ready to go. It's going to be a fun season.”
