Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2017) – Harli White soaked up as much of the experience throughout the 57th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store as she could last weekend at Knoxville Raceway.

White made her debut at the biggest sprint car event of the season and she advanced into the A Main during her qualifying night, which was the first time she raced a complete show in a 410ci winged sprint car in the United States.

“That was a big deal,” she said. “We made the A Main on our prelim night of our 360 and 410 Knoxville Nationals. That was an accomplishment.”

White kicked off the event on Wednesday by qualifying 37th quickest around the half-mile oval. That lined her up on the pole of a heat race and a third-place result locked her into the 19th starting position for the main event.

“I feel pretty good about it,” she said. “It’s a tough deal. The setup was our biggest thing. It’s a little different. And the competition is tougher. Everything in the 410 is a lot harder.”

White gained much-needed experience and she capped the night with a 22nd-place finish.

She returned to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday for Hard Knox Night, which she opened by qualifying 14th quickest in her group. She then placed fifth in a heat race and 13th in a B Main.

White was also part of the Speed Sport Challenge that night thanks to spending the offseason racing in Australia. She finished where she started – 17th.

“That was really neat,” she said. “It was really cool to be a part of that, racing with some of the top drivers in the United States, Canada and Australia. It was more laps on the race track as well.”

The Knoxville Nationals wrapped up on Saturday and White ended 11th in the D Main.

“It was great to be a part of the Knoxville Nationals for the first time,” she said. “We hoped for better results, but we took what we could get. I learned a ton driving a 410 sprint car and am grateful for the experience.”

White will return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Sunday at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo. She enters the event ranked ninth in the championship standings.

“It’s a big track so coming from Knoxville after two weeks there might help us out,” she said.
