THURSDAY AFTERNOON’S “STOCKSVILLE REUNION” TO FEATURE DEFENDING CHAMPION STEVE FRANCIS, ‘THE KENTUCKY COLONEL’

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 25, 2013) - Thursday afternoon’s “Stocksville Reunion” at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will now feature defending Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals champion Steve Francis of Ashland, Kentucky, being interviewed by Barry Johnson of www.positivelyracing.com. The fan forum will take place on the second floor of the museum at 2 p.m. and is open to all those with a paid museum admission. Steve will be defending his title this week at the legendary Knoxville Raceway with his Clint Bowyer Racing-owned, Georgia Boot-PEAK-Toyota-sponsored Barry Wright machine.

According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “Originally Barry Johnson was going to interview Des Moines late model veteran Don Hoffman, but Don’s schedule suddenly changed and prevented him from taking part. Barry gave me the idea to see who was already in town and Steve readily agreed to being interviewed. I can’t thank Steve enough to for allowing Barry to talk to him about his long and accomplished career racing dirt late models in North America and Australia on such short notice. Many people don’t realize that Steve started dirt late model racing in 1983 and has over 200 feature wins, including the World 100, World Dirt Track Championship and the Knoxville Late Model Nationals, to his credit. He has also done very well in sanctioned point championships over the decades.”

Those individuals interested in learning more about the activities this week at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum should visit the museum’s web site at www.sprintcarhof.com.
