Battle at the Brickyard "Race of Champions" Details
We are pleased to announce a unique racing opportunity that will be added to the 2014 “Battle at the Brickyard” event at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This unique race will allow drivers to compete for yearly bragging rights at the famous venue.
With the support of Honda HPD and Hoosier tire the 12 race competitors will be given four tires, and a motor to use specifically for this one race. Hoosier will provide new tires that must be mounted on each car prior to the start of the event.
Honda HPD will provide 12 race ready UT2 160 motors that will be marked 1-12. The 12 drivers will pill draw for their starting position and motor. Pill draw order will be determined by the order in which the competitors registered for the race. The driver that registered first will be the first to pill draw for his or her motor and starting position.
RACE REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for this event drivers must be less than 100 pounds. Drivers also must meet the age and weight requirements of the normal USAC Light 160 class. A driver must also meet the racing requirements for the 160 class to be eligible for this event. (A driver must run one 12-month period upon graduation from the rookie class, in a lower class or combination of a lower classes (not including rookie year).
DRIVER MUST HAVE WON AN A MAIN IN A COMPETITIVE CLASS (REGARDLESS OF THE CLASS)
DURING THE 2013 PAVEMENT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Eligibility for this event will be based on 2013 Pavement National Championship Series Results. A driver must also run a National event prior to the “Battle at the Brickyard” in 2014 to be eligible for this event. The following criteria will be used to lock in the 12 car field. Most A main wins, Most A main 2nd place finishes, Most A Main thirds etc. Two alternates will also be selected incase one of the other drivers is unable to participate.
Based on the above criteria the following drivers are locked in for the Inaugural “Race of Champions” event at the “Battle at the Brickyard.”

- Gage Painter (2) A main wins in 2013
- Ryan Repko (2) A main wins in 2013
- Tanner Reif (1) A main win in 2013 (4) A main Second Place Finishes in 2013
- Logan Heath (1) A main win in 2013 (3) A main Second Place Finishes in 2013
- Connor Yonchuk (1) A main win in 2013 (3) A main Second Place Finishes in 2013
Alternates:
Connor Holderbach (1) A main win in 2013 (1) A main Second Place Finish in 2013

Top three in the event will receive USAC medals at the awards ceremony.
The race winner will receive a custom trophy to take home. The winners name will also be engraved into the brand new USAC .25 Midget Race of Champions trophy.
Pre-Registration for the 2014 “Battle at the Brickyard” will open later this week.
