Meservey wins Thunder in the Gate City 75
Hudson, NH - Mother Nature tried to ruin things again but track owner Ben Bosowski and General Manager Michelle Cloutier were having none of that as they rallied the staff to get the track dry as the Milton Cat Modified Racing Series made their debut at the Original Family Fun Track! They would be joined by NELCAR Bandoleros, NELCAR Legends, Granite State Indoor Range Sox Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks and 4 cylinder enduro.
NELCAR Bandoleros kicked the evenings racing activities off with a 20-lap feature which would see a short rain delay and the race ending under yellow checkered. The 38 of Bryson Robidoux would lead every lap on his way to collect the win as a car in the back of the pack would spin on the backstretch. Brody Wakefield in the 04 finished 2nd and Parker Davis in the 14 finished 3rd.
NELCAR Legends rolled out next 21 cars strong. Jacob Burns in the 13 would lead every lap holding off all challengers throughout the race and restarts. For most of the middle part of the race eyes were on the 19 of Jase Mongeon and the 29 of Cole Robie was they battled over the 2nd spot. But on lap 19 things would take a turn as the Mongeon would make contact with Robie sending them both spinning and ending the day for Mongeon. The 24 of Rodney Dowless assumed the 2nd spot and that is where he would finish. Jack Walker in the 95J crossed the line in 3rd.
Granite State Range Six Shooters were up next and the 68 of Steve Miller Sr. led wire to wire in a race that took 7 minutes and 18 seconds to run 25 laps. Steve Miller Jr. in the 79 had nothing for dad and settled for 2nd while Trystin Boswell in the 17x finished 3rd. Michael Yeaton in the 25NH tried everything he could to get around Boswell but came up just short finishing 4th and Mike Comtois in the 52NH finished 5th.
MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks took to the track for 25 laps of action. Mikayla Duval in the 59 lead the first 10 laps before Carlos Grenier in the 1NH took the top spot away. Grenier stole would be short lived as on lap 14 he would get a right front flat and would come to rest on the top of turns 3 and 4. Bobby Payne in car #17 would use the restart to get the top spot and would hold it until 2 to go as Grenier made his way back to the front to take the lead. Grenier would take the win followed by Payne then Duval. Chris Quin in the 76 finished 4th and Rookie driver Shayla Kirk in the 71 finished 5th.
The Milton Cat Modified Racing Series ran two heat races that were won by Hayden Grenier in car #83 and Stew McCormick in car #04. Grenier would rocket out to an early lead holding the top spot until lap 13 when Brett Meservey in the 76MA made the move to take over the top spot. Meservey would hold on to the top spot over numerous restarts to collect the win putting his name in the record books as the first winner at Hudson speedway in series history. Matt Swanson in car #25MA ran a clean race avoiding trouble to finish 2nd. While Joey Jarvis in car #04VT ran his race saving tires to round out the top 3!
