Friday Night Fun: Mid-Atlantic Sprints Join $3,000-to-win Modifieds June 3 at Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, DE – Friday night fun.
Georgetown Speedway roars back into action on Friday, June 3 with a full program of racing on the half-mile oval including the return of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series in a program presented by the Delaware State Sportsmens Association.
J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds race 25 laps for $3,000 to win, $500 for 10th and $250 to start in the second event of the Sunoco Championship Series.
Milford, Del.s Jordan Watson holds the point lead after winning the Deron Rust Memorial on May 19. Watson fended off a late charge by Pennsylvanias Danny Bouc to kick off the $2,500 championship battle at the Sussex County oval.
The Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Delaware Auto Exchange did not compete at Georgetown last season but returns on June 3. Buddy Schweibinz leads the standings over Kevin Nagy and Tim Iulg after six events.
First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models (20 laps, $1,000 to win), Little Lincolns, Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars (running in memory of Mark ‘Coot Williams), Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers complete the program
RUSH Late Models take part in their second Sunoco Championship Series event of the 22 season.
Grandstand admission is $20 (Adults), $16 Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17), $10 Kids (ages 9-12) and Children 8 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 Kids (ages 9-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
