Rain & Thunderstorms Postpone Friday Racing At Georgetown Speedway To THIS SUNDAY, MAY 15; United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars Headline Program A
GEORGETOWN, DE €“ Rain and thunderstorms have prompted the postponement of Fridays program at Georgetown Speedway to THIS SUNDAY, May 15.
The show in its entirety has been moved back to SUNDAY with gates opening at 3 p.m.
The event will be headlined by the lightning-fast United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars in a 25-lap event offering $2,000 to win and $300 to take the green flag thanks to B&G Auto Body.
Also on the card: Crate 602 Sportsman ($600 to win, $100 to win, open draw for position), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Delmarva Chargers, Delaware Super Trucks, Little Lincolns and open practice/Dash for Super Late Models in preparation for the upcoming Ultimate Super Late Model Series First State 40 on Thursday, June 2.
Pit and grandstand gates open at 3 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 5 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.
Adult grandstand admission is $15. Seniors (65 and over) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $12. Kids 9-12 are $8. Children under eight are admitted FREE. Pit admission is $30.
Racing at the half-mile returns for the first time since the Deron Rust Memorial small-block Modified program run on March 25.
Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1950, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
