Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (Sept. 22, 2015) – Dale Blaney has all but wrapped up his sixth UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions title.

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team hold a 202-point advantage in the championship standings with only three races remaining this season. As long as Blaney advances into each of the three main events – which he can because he has enough provisionals remaining – he will secure his third straight championship.

“We haven’t won an All Star race since Aug. 2,” he said. “I’d like to win another one or two before it’s over.”

Blaney, who leads the series with 11 All Star victories this season, is coming off a self-described disappointing weekend during the Jim Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway.

“It was about as bad of a weekend as I can have,” he said. “We haven’t been very good the last month or so. We were good enough at the beginning of the year to overcome starting in the second row of a heat race. Right now we can’t do it and we aren’t qualifying good enough to put ourselves in a position to be first or second quick.”

Blaney qualified eighth quickest – second in his group – on Friday. However, he finished where he started – third – in a heat race to miss a spot in the dash by one position. That lined him up 11th for the main event.

“I felt like we had an opportunity starting 11th,” he said. “The track was where you could pass if you were good. We just never got rolling that well. Some guys in front of us had some problems and we gained some spots there. I felt like I really only passed two cars racing. We weren’t bad and we got a little better the last eight laps, but a 30-lap race there goes pretty quick.”

Blaney ended with a sixth-place result, which was his 49th top 10 of the season.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Fremont Speedway, where the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored team timed in 13th quickest during qualifying.

“We went our pretty late for qualifying and cut a good lap,” he said. “We were the fastest in our set. In the heat race second place was right there in front of us. I just wasn’t good enough to do anything with it.”

Blaney finished fourth in his heat race to garner the 16th starting position for the 50-lap main event.

“I had a right rear tire go down around Lap 16,” he said. “We got it changed and I went back out, but never felt like I was very good. We had an open red with about 20 laps to go. I passed three or four cars as soon as the green came back out. That was about it.”

Blaney rebounded from the flat tire to post a 14th-place finish.

He returns to action this Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series before racing with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sunday at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio.
