Night 2 of the North/South 100
The BAR31 Team got into a hole early in the evening, but as the saying goes, “if this was easy, everyone would be doing it.”
59 late models signed in on Friday night. Kye drew pill number 91, which would put him deep in the field for qualifying. He ended up being 13th fastest in Group B-2. This would start him on the tail of his heat race; and on the tail is where he would take the checkers.
The 31AUS Rocket started the B-main outside of row 3. Kye married the high side and was able to pass a few cars to take the checkered flag in 4th position, good enough to make the feature race.
Kye started the Group B, A-Main shotgun on the field. The 25-lap race had a caution on lap 4; the last 21 laps would go caution free. Kye finished 21st, 1 lap down.
Tonight is the final night of the North/South 100 weekend. There will be no qualifying as heat races are set by the accumulated points from racing Thursday and Friday. The 31AUS will be starting outside row 3 in heat 3. The top 3 will transfer into the North/South 100.
