The winter has been a cold one, but things are thawing out along the Gulf Coast, with the racing flame beginning to flicker and area race teams heating up their preparations for the 2011 season. On Saturday, February 5^th, a pre season event that draws large crowds of hi- performance enthusiasts will return to 5 Flags Speedway, when the 5^th Annual Racers Swap Meet opens it’s gates. Presented by 5 Flags Speedway as an opportunity for racers to turn unwanted parts into cash or parts of need, past years have seen items from complete turn key cars right down to springs and shocks and carburetors. Last years event saw buyers and sellers from Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and of course Florida, representing not only the asphalt and dirt oval track markets, but drag racers and street rodders alike. There is no admission charge and no buyer’s fee, with the only cost for this event being a one time seller’s fee of $20. This fee is good to sell anything from a complete car to an entire truck load of parts. The gates will open at 8:00am with the sale scheduled from 9:00am to 3:00pm. There will be food concessions available and free prizes will also be given out over the course of the day.
