Erb attends double World 100's at Eldora Speedway

On Wednesday afternoon, Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb returned to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) to compete in preliminary action for the 51st annual World 100. With the massive 80-car field divided into two groups, Tyler salvaged the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race after race officials docked him two positions. Starting on the pole of his heat race on Thursday, Erb came one spot shy of a transfer position with a fourth-place finish. Scoring a second-place finish in his B-Main, Tyler locked into the 24th-starting position for the $54,000-to-win World 100. He rebounded to finish 19th after tagging the wall on lap 58.

For another round of preliminary features on Friday as the 50th annual World 100 commenced, Tyler’s third-place finish in his heat race pinned him 11th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Erb was an early retiree from the 25-lap affair on the 18th circuit with severe damage to his rear deck.

On Saturday, Erb slipped over the cushion while battling for a transfer spot in his heat that brought out the caution. Needing to place third or better in his B-Main to make the $53,000-to-win World 100, Tyler came one spot shy in his B-Main and the five-lap scramble.
