Dodge City Raceway Park Hosts Special Stock Car & Hobby Stock Shootout This Friday During Kickoff to Dodge City Days

Inside Line Promotions – DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 29, 2021) – Dodge City Raceway Park continues its hot summer of marquee racing events this Friday with the Stock Car & Hobby Stock Shootout sponsored by Phillips Custom Farming.
Big money is on the line for all three IMCA divisions that are in action. The stock cars winner receives the top prize of $1,200 with $700 up for grabs for the hobby stocks winner. The stars/mod lites feature winner will garner $1,000.
The event is also part of the start to the famed Dodge City Days, which is an 11-day spectacle that has an annual economic impact of $9 million to Dodge City. Approximately 100,000 individuals attend at least one day of the event.
The race track will certainly hold up its end of the bargain for entertainment as all three divisions have featured exciting battles in the chase for the championship.
Jason Rogers has used a division-best five feature victories to build a 23-point advantage in the stock cars championship standings. Ondre Rexford is second with Chris Oliver only six points back. Troy Burkhart, Tathan Burkhart and Angel Munoz are the only drivers besides Rogers to score a win this season.
The top three drivers in the hobby stocks standings are separated by 19 points as Reagan Sellard has a six-point lead over Bingston Rogers with Manuel Salazar ranked third. Sellard and Rogers lead the way with two victories apiece at the track this season.
Dalton Bell has capitalized on a top five in all three starts this season to propel himself to first place in the stars/mod lites standings by five points over Marlin Hogie. Clayton Hogie is only eight points out of the lead and Derrick Sprott is nine points behind Bell. Peter Klassen rounds out the top five in the standings – only 14 points out of the top spot. The features have been won this year by Bell, Marlin Hogie and Justin Kinderknecht.
The pit gates open at 3 p.m. with the main gates opening at 6 p.m. on Friday. Hot laps kick off the action at 7 p.m. with racing to follow.

Originally constructed as a paved surface venue, it wasn’t but a few years later the facility returned to its roots and popularity as a dirt venue. Dodge City Raceway Park, as part of the “Why NOT Dodge” initiative, brought affordable family entertainment to the city and took the title as the ‘Premier Kansas Dirt Track.’
With a seating capacity near 3,500, Dodge City Raceway Park features a multitude of motorsports entertainment events.
