DEREK MAGEE SCORES 1ST CAREER WIN IN CRATE MODELS
Derek Magee had the opportunity of his racing career starting on the pole in the 15-lap Crate Model main. Magee quickly settled into the bottom groove while Tyler Reed worked by Zac Weller for second. Magee remained flawless and by halfway was holding off the challenges of Reed. Weller held on to third with Chalres Shawver and Mike Wilson running in the top five.
The only yellow would fly with five to go when Weller and Shawver tangled in the third turn. Weller was able to return but Shawver was done for the night. Magee would make no mistakes and hold off Reed to post his first career win in five years racing in the division. Mike Wharton got by Wilson on the final lap for third. Geoff Carey crossed the line in fifth but was light at the scale giving the spot to Jamie Eichholz. Heats were won by Sparky White and Robbie Walls, Jr.
Crate Model Finish: 1. Derek Magee; 2. Tyler Reed; 3. Mike Wharton; 4. Mike Wilson; 5. Jamie Eichholz; 6. Sparky White; 7. Zac Weller; 8. Charles Shawver; 9. Wes Clifton; 10. Robbie Walls, Jr.; DQ: Geoff Carey (light).
