RICKY ELLIOTT LIGHTNING FAST FOR SECOND WIN IN LATE MODELS

Herb Tunis started on the pole and led the first two laps of the 20-lap S.R. Pete & Sons Late Model feature. Ricky Elliott worked his way under Tunis in the fourth turn to take the lead for lap three. Once out front his would pull away from the field in the caution free race.

 

Tunis maintained the second spot and distanced himself from a two car battle between Dylan Evans and Donald Lingo, Jr. Evans would secure third while Nick Davis got by Lingo just past halfway. With Elliott turning laps in the 18.8 second range, the rest of the first began to fade in the distance. Elliott would go on to his second win of the season by half a track over Tunis.

 

“The engine started to develop a miss with about five laps to go,� said Elliott. “But we will have time this week to figure out what it was.� Evans put in another solid performance finishing in third with Davis fourth and Lingo, Jr. fifth. Heats were won by Elliott and Tunis.
