CHARLES SHAWVER SCORES 1ST CAREER WIN IN CRATE MODELS
Derek Magee led the first lap of the 20-lap Crate Model Fall Championship qualifying feature before Mike Wilson moved on top. Charles Shawver, who started in fourth became the third different leader in as many laps. Tyler Reed followed into the second spot while Wilson and Zac Weller battled for third.
By the halfway sign the top five were Shawver, Reed, Sparky White, Jamie Eichholz and Robbie Walls, Jr. White was on a mission to get to the front as his car owner, Tommy Elliott and Elliott Farms were sponsoring the night of racing. The race would go caution free and Shawver was not to be denied his first win in the division as he protected the bottom groove and held off White by a car length at the checkered. White had to settle for second with Reed third. Eichholz turned in his best performance of the season finishing in fourth and Walls, Jr. rounded out the top five. Heats were won by White and Wilson.
Crate Model Finish: 1. Charles Shawver; 2. Sparky White; 3. Tyler Reed; 4. Jamie Eichholz; 5. Robbie Walls, Jr.; 6. Mike Wilson; 7. Zac Weller; 8. Derek Magee; DNS: Geoff Carey.
